Most buyers call the agent's number off the sign they see in front of the house.  Although they may not be aware, this is one of the worst things they can do when purchasing a home.  Likely, the agent on the sign already has a working relationship with the sellers and could remain partial to them throughout the transaction, not helping you in the negotiation process of price and repairs.
